Hauser Dollars for Scholars chapter generates scholarship funds through the help of so many in Hope and the surrounding communities. Scholarship funds for 2024-2025 school year come from investments made possible by many endowments established for Dollars for Scholars. Several years ago a sizeable endowment was established in honor of John Cox. Mr. Cox attended the Veteran's Day program at Hauser each year. He wanted to see the youth of this community thrive and become strong citizens. Most recently, we have had a contribution in memory of Mrs. Betty Stewart upon her passing. Her family believed strongly in FRHC schools and the importance of post secondary learning and growth. A fundraising letter is sent out at the beginning of December every year with very generous giving response from community business, organizations and individuals. The governing committee for DFS has brought fundraising efforts back to the school with fundraising events at basketball games. In March 2023, the Hauser chapter of Dollars for Scholars partnered with Willow Leaves of Hope for a dinner/entertainment fund raising event. We will have our third (annual) Willow Leaves fundraiser on February 9, 2025.
Many hands make for light work is our motto for these events. We are always looking for Hauser alumni, interested parents and interested community members to join in the fun and fellowship of these important fundraising event. If interested, please contact Angie Chambers-current chapter president for Hauser Dollars for Scholars at accjmc2012@gmail.com or 812-371-9598.
